Volunteers Needed For Tesco Winter Food Collection 2025

County Durham Foodbank is calling for volunteers to support this year’s Tesco Winter Food Collection, taking place on Thursday 27, Friday 28 and Saturday 29 November 2025, between 9am and 4pm.

We’ll be collecting donations across four Tesco stores in County Durham: Chester-le-Street, Durham Gilesgate, and Newton Aycliffe.

Even a couple of hours of your time can make a huge difference. Volunteers can choose a shift that suits them — from just two hours to a full day — and help with tasks such as greeting customers, handing out shopping lists, receiving and sorting donations, and thanking shoppers for their generosity.

This is a great opportunity to get involved in your community, meet new people, and help support local families in need this winter. Families, friends, and colleagues are all welcome to take part.
